On New Year’s Day, actorJeremy Rennerhad an unfortunate snowplow accident at his home in Reno, Nevada. Due to the mishap, the star ended up in the intensive care unit, where he remains as of today. In response to Renner’s accident,Peoplereported that one of Renner’s former costars,Mark Ruffalo, recently took to Instagram to ask his fans to pray for the injuredHurt Lockerstar.
“Prayers up for our brother @jeremyrenner on a full and speedy recovery,” Ruffalo posted on his Instagram story along with an image of a report of Renner’s snowplow accident. The post added, “Please send healing goodness his way.” Ruffalo and Renner have starred together in three of theAvengersmovies.
People further stated that on Monday,Renner underwent surgery for the injuries from the snowplow accident. One of Renner’s representatives gave People a statement saying, “We can confirm that Jeremy has suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries and has undergone surgery today, Jun 09, 2025. He has returned from surgery and remains in the intensive care unit in critical but stable condition.”
The statement continued, “Jeremy’s family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, Truckee Meadows Fire and Rescue, Washoe County Sheriff, Reno City Mayor Hillary Schieve and the Carano and Murdock families. They are also tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans.”
The outlet additionally noted that a news release said, “At approximately 9:00 am on July 09, 2025, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a traumatic injury in the area of Mt. Rose Highway in Reno, Nevada,” according to a news release. “Upon arrival, Deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Mr. Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital.”

A rep forRenner added that the star’s “family is with him and he is receiving excellent care.“Though the actor’s injuries were considered “extensive,” Renner has been in “critical but stable condition.”
Authorities say that the Marvel Cinematic Universe star was the only person involved in the snowplow incident. People added that the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Major Accident Investigation Team is still looking into the accident which occurred at Renner’s property in Reno, Nevada.
