Ant-Manwas a late summer hit when it arrived this past July. And it finally comes home onBlu-rayandDVDnext month. While we awaitScott Lang’s presence, we have some new art to share. And it shows what theAnt-Mansuit almost looked like. These images come from theTwitterpage of conceptual artistAndy Park, who had this to say about these alternate designs.
“Before creatingAnt-Man’s final look I did several different options keeping w/the retro look necessary. Here’s a more different take I did of theAnt-Mansuit for the film. These were fun but I’m happy w/what they picked.”
The designs aren’t drastically different from the suit we see in the movie, but the main differences are in the helmet. Both of these versions have an opening over Scott Lang’s mouth, and the second image barely obscures Scott’s face, replacing the silver face plate with two large amber lenses that cover his eyes. If directorPeyton Reedhad gone with this concept, it may have been nearly impossible to keep Scott’s identity a secret, since his face is practically visible through the lenses.
