Marvel’s Most Wantedhas added a familiar face from the comics to its cast withDelroy Lindo(Malcolm X, Get Shorty,The Chicago Code), who will take on the role of Dominic Fortune. Dominic Fortune first appeared in 1975’s Marvel Preview #2, in a story written and drawn by comics legend Howard Chaykin. A rogue and adventurer in the 1930s, Fortune craved wealth and excitement with his globe-trotting odysseys. Here’s what Executive Producer/Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb had to say in a statement.

“Dominic Fortune carries with him a cunning and charm but also a dangerous edge that onlyDelroycould bring to life. We’re thrilled to have him join the show.”

Delroy Lindo’s first major role as Herald Loomis in August Wilson’sJoe Turner’s Come and Goneearned him a Tony Awardnomination, leading to his breakout screen performance inMalcolm X. Since then, Lindo has earned two Screen Actors Guild Award nominations for Get Shorty and The Cider House Rules. Lindo has previously starred in the television seriesBlood & Oil, Believe,The Chicago Code, and Kidnapped.

Marvel’s Most Wantedwas created and written by Jeffrey Bell (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Angel) and Paul Zbyszewski (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,Lost). Jeffrey Bell, Paul Zbyszewski, andJeph Loeb(Marvel’s Agent Carter,Marvel’s Daredevil,Marvel’s Jessica Jones) serve as Executive Producers.Marvel’s Most Wantedis produced by Marvel Television and ABC Studios.

While no official plot details have been given, this spinoff is believed to center onAdrianne Palicki’sMarvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.character Mockingbird andNick Blood’s Lance Hunter. Insiders have claimed that it will have very little to do with theMarvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.story lines, but it there certainly may becrossoverpossibilities for both shows.
