Masters of the Universefans have been given a first look at another star set to be a big part of the new live-action adaptation of the movie:Camila Mendesas Teela. A wave of new images has shown the actress in full costume, saving Prince Adam as he attempts to get his bearings in our world. With more shots of Nicholas Galitzine’s Adam and his mighty Power Sword, there is a lot to paw over while awaiting first official footage of the 2026 release.

While it has recently become almost impossible to work out when “set images” are genuine and when they have been generated using AI – with recent examples being faked images of Jason Momoa’s Lobo and Robert Downey Jr’s Doctor Doom – this time around the photos of both starsfilming the He-Man rebootare genuine and therefore are open to discussion about how good or bad fans think the character interpretations are going to be.

The Original ‘Masters of the Universe’ Series Pushed Some Pretty Controversial Boundaries

‘Masters of the Universe’ broke new ground for children’s television, especially with its sword-and-sorcery-themed action.

On the whole, reactions to Mendes’ Teela have been positive, with many noting how the film seems to be taking inspiration as much from the depiction of the character in Kevin Smith’sMasters of the Universe: Revelationand the original ‘80s cartoon, and that certainly is not a bad thing. You can see some of the many images floating around online below.

‘Masters of the Universe’ Is on a Better Track Than Anyone Expected

Fans ofMasters of the Universehad almost given up hope of seeing the planned live-action return to Eternia ever happen. After being in development for almost two decades, and going through several lead actors, writers, directors, and studios, the wheels are finally moving in a way that makes it almost impossible for anything to go wrong and preventMasters of the Universemaking it to screens.

While there have been limited official images of the movie, several batches of set images have previously shown Galitzine’s Adam being escorted away by police, and a distant view of the physical Castle Grayskull jawbridge. So far, there has been no appearance by Jared Leto’s Skeletor, or any of the other characters expected to appear, such as Idris Elba’s Man at Arms, Alison Brie’s Evil-Lyn, or any sign that the movie will be the first to bring He-Man’s feline companion Battle-Cat into live-action for the first time ever.

One unexpected tease in the last couple of weeks has come from set images suggesting that the film will also referenceMasters of the Universe’s sister show,She-Ra: Princess of Power, with illustrations on a piece of the set revealing depictions of several characters from that show. Whether this means seeds are already being sown for the franchise’s future is unclear, but if the movie is done right, then it could become a surprising box office success when it is released next summer.
