Who is Agatha Harkness?
Agatha Harkness is a witch from Salem Massachusetts, who was accused of using dark magic by her own coven. Although her coven tried to kill her, Agatha reversed their magic onto them, killing every member of the coven, including her own mother. Agatha made her first appearance in the MCU inWandaVisionas Agnes, Wanda’s nosy neighbor, feeling Wanda’s Chaos Magic and wanting totake Wanda’s extraordinary powersfor herself by interfering with Wanda’s ideal simulation. Upon discovering that Wanda is the Scarlet Witch, Agatha becomes stripped of her powers and is forced to live out her life in Westview.

How Powerful is Agatha Harkness?
While Wanda Maximoff AKA the Scarlet Witch is considered the most powerful character within the MCU, Agatha’s powers are enough to rival that of Wanda’s, nearly beating Wanda in their final battle inWandaVision. Part of what made Agatha sucha powerful magic-useris her history with the Darkhold. to gain more power, Agatha managed to get her hands on the Darkhold, using it to amplify her powers, which turned her fingertips black as well as completely corrupting her mind. Another part of what makes Agatha so powerful is her ability to absorb energy, her main reason for getting involved with Wanda in the first place. All of this considered, this makes Agatha one of the most powerful characters within the MCU.
