Based on the title alone, we know thatPaul RuddandEvangeline Lillywill be back as Scott Lang/Ant-Manand Hope Van Dyne/The Wasp.Colliderrecently spoke withMichael Douglas, who revealed that negotiations have begun for the actor to return as Hank Pym, although he does have one request for the filmmakers.

“I just got a call recently - they want to negotiate for a sequel and I thought ‘That’s great!’ Hopefully, I won’t have to carry quite as much expositional dialogue as the first one but I had a wonderful time doing it. Just a great, great time. The cast was fantastic. Paul, Evangeline,Michael Peña- I’m sure he’ll be back. If they can scrapeCorey Stolloff the wall, I’m sure they’ll want him too - he’s such a good villain. AndPeyton Reedtoo. It was a lovely experience, so you know, I welcome it. I chuckle about being involved with a movie that already has a release date in 2018. Ya know, it’s hard to conceive of that, but it’s all good, all the way around, it’s all good.”

Marvelhas already set a July 6, 2018release datelast month for Ant-Man and the Wasp. During the first end credits scene in Ant-Man,Michael Douglas’Hank Pymshowed his daughter Hope the Wasp suit that he had designed for her.Evangeline Lillyherself teased this summer that she had been fitted for The Wasp suit, hinting that we may see her inPhase Three. We also know that Scott Lang will return next year, as part of the massive ensemble cast ofCaptain America: Civil War.

While most actors who sign on forMarvelmovies are roped in for multi-picture deals, it doesn’t happen 100% of the time.Robert Redfordonly signed on forCaptain America: The Winter Soldier, and it isn’t known if his character Alexander Pierce will ever return to theMarvel Cinematic Universe.Michael Douglascertainly seems optimistic about returning forAnt-Man and the Wasp, but we’ll have to wait and see if his deal becomes finalized in the near future. They my be more unwilling to sign longterm contracts due to their age.
