ActressSian Blake, best known for starring on the British TV seriesEastEnders, was founddeadat her southeast London home this week, along with her two children.BBCreports the actress had been missing for three weeks. Sian, 43, and her sonsZachary Bilal Kent-Blake, 8, andAmon Ben George Kent-Blake, 4, were last seen on December 13, and they were reported missing three days later.
A police spokesperson revealed that theactressand her children had all died from head and neck injuries. Thepoliceare seeking her partner,Arthur Simpson-Kent, 48, the father of her children, in connection to thecrime. TheBBCreports that he has left the U.K. and traveled to Ghana. The case is now being treated as a triple-murder.
The police filed a missing persons case after visitingSian Blake’s home in Erith. The visit was conducted after information was obtained by the children’s charity National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), over concerns about the actress' health. Forensic specialists were later called to the scene, and the bodies were discovered on Tuesday, January 6, after the garden was excavated. The authorities revealed that significant attempts to hide the bodies were made.
Det SuptPaul Monk, from the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command, said the police are, “continuing to appeal for any information about the movements ofArthur Simpson-Kent.” The late actress' sister,Ava Blake, also told police thatSian Blakewanted to leave her boyfriend. “I want him to face justice. It’s my nephews more than anything. My brother is angry. My cousins are angry. They are angry about Sian, but the boys have devastated us. We have lost a generation. We can never replace them. In our opinion the relationship had already come to an end but she hadn’t quite made that break or that decision to leave Arthur. She didn’t want to throw him out on the street but give him time to find somewhere else to live. That was the only point she was wavering on.”
Sian Blake, who suffered from motor neurone disease, made her acting debut on the hit BBC series EastEnders, portraying soul singer Frankie Pierre in 56 episodes between 1996 and 1997. She also starred in films such asSiberiaandThe Death of Klinghoffer. She most recently appeared on an episode of the U.K. series Skins, and provided the voice of Yugiri in the video gameFinal Fantasy XIV: Heavensward.
