I think we all would have loved to have done more. I’m very glad for all the people that loved it so much and all of those fans who were so passionate about it because it justified what we thought when we were like, ‘Oh, this is really a magical show.’ I’m so happy that a lot of people seem to agree.”

Fans still haven’t given up hope that it can be saved.

My Lady Janewas a huge hit with critics, scoring 95% on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer and 91% on the audience Popcornmeter. It was no surprise that, with those kinds of numbers, many were left shocked when the show was scrapped. It seems that no-one was more surprised than those working on the show, who had already begun work on Season 2. Bluemel continued:

A Scene From My Lady Jane on Prime Video

“They wrote some of it. I don’t know much, but they wrote some of it and they built the sets. It got really close to happening, and then the rug was pulled out. I can’t quite remember if I had any details. I think there was a shipwreck in it. Someone said that there was a shipwreck and I was going to get in a shipwreck somehow, but that’s all I really know. I’m sure it would have been very exciting, really fun, and ultimately very sexy and silly, as My Lady Jane should be.”

‘My Lady Jane’ Is One of Many Canceled Prime Video Shows

While it is Netflix who has gained a reputation as the killer of shows, Prime Video’s list of canceled series has grown significantly in 2025. While the Amazon platform dropped many shows in 2024, includingAmerican Rust, Outer Range, andDaisy Jones & the Six, 2025 seems to be going even further with around 15 shows having already either ended or being set to end this year, including twoCitadelspinoffs,Cruel Intentions, Etoile, andBosch: Legacy.

While some shows come to an end naturally, such asthe upcoming final season of The Boys,we are now in a period of time when a show has to deliver incredible numbers from the moment it comes out of the traps to be in with the chance of getting a renewal. While new shows are constantly being announced, viewers are often left wondering whether it is worth tuning into a new show that may be canceled on a cliffhanger that will never be resolved.
