The upcoming 10-episode adaptation of author Joe Hill’s novelNOS4A2meant to be read asNosferatuis all set to drive straight into our nightmares later this year on AMC, and today we have the show’s new teaser to prove it. This new teaser is basically a bunch of seemingly random bits and pieces and flashing strange images, but hell, it works.

And all of these quick images eventually add up to let us know that, as you might imagine, someone bad is, in fact, coming. That someone we can venture to guess is probably Charlie Manx, who is played in this adaptation byStar TrekandHeroesstarZachary Quinto.

The supernatural horror series based on Hill’s bestselling novel, tells the story of Manx, who is described as a seductive immortal who feeds off the souls of children, then deposits what remains of them intoChristmasland- an icy, twisted Christmas village of Manx’s imagination where every day is Christmas Day and unhappiness is against the law. This Manx fellow soon finds his whole world threatened when a young woman in New England discovers she has a dangerous gift. This young New England woman in question is named Vic McQueen and she is played by Ashleigh Cummings, who you may remember from her breakout role in director Ben Young’sHounds of Loveco-starring Emma Booth and Stephen Curry.

The series was created by Jami O’Brien, who is known for shows such asFlesh and Bone,Hell on Wheels, andFear the Walking Dead. O’Brien will executive produce this creepy new series along with source writer, Joe Hill. Cummings and Quinto’sNOS4A2co-stars include Olafur Darri Olafsson as Bing Partridge, Virginia Kull as Linda McQueen, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Chris McQueen, Jahkara Smith as Maggie Leigh, Karen Pittman as Angela Brewster, Rarmian Newton as Drew, Darby Camp as Haley Smith, and Ashley Romans as Tabitha Hutter. The series is scheduled to hold its world premiere at this year’s South by Southwest film festival in Austin, Texas as a part of the festival’s “Episodic Premieres” series of screenings.

For those out there that might not know, author Joe Hillis the son of the reigning king of horror, Stephen King. But don’t go thinking that Hill’s success is all based on some kind of a worldwide case of nepotism. Oh, no. Hill has made a name for himself separate from his father over the years producing hit novels such asHorns. That novel was turned into a feature film fromThe Hills Have EyesandHigh Tensiondirector Alexandre Aja and starred Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Juno Temple (The Dark Knight Rises), and Max Minghella (The Social Network).

And on top of that flick, Hill’s hit comic book seriesLock & Keyis currently being retooled as a series for Netflix, and that’s not the only Hill project Netflix has waiting in the wings. There is alsoSplicedirector Vincenzo Natali’s adaptation of King and Hill’s 2012 novellaIn The Tall Grasswhich is set to star Patrick Wilson (The Conjuring,Aquaman). That film has wrapped principal photography, and like this AMC series, is planned to be coming sometime later this year. This new teaser comes to us from AMC over on YouTube.
