During his interview with host Seth Myers, Cheadle revealed that people he bumps into love to diss the first sequel to theGeorge Clooneyand Brad Pitt-led ensemble piece,Ocean’s Eleven(2001). Cheadle said (perLate Night with Seth Myers):

“People love to walk up to me and openly bash Ocean’s Twelve.Can you imagine? It’s like you’re just walking with strangers, like,‘Your belt sucks, dude!’You’re like, ‘Thank you.’ [Laughs] I mean, we [the cast] talk about it.Yeah, we talk about it. It’s, it’s a thing. And it’s such a contrast to the experience.You know, we had so much fun. We were all in Italy together and the families were there together. It was a great experience —I guess it didn’t translate. Sue me.”

Even with the addition of Vincent Cassel to the cast as the charismatic but diabolical François Toulour, who rats out Danny Ocean (Clooney) and his criminal crew to casino owner Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia),Ocean’s Twelveboasts the lowest CinemaScore of the entire franchise with a “B-” And it’s Popcornmeter rating on Rotten Tomatoes is even worse at 60%.

While Brad Pitt and George Clooney eyea new director for the upcomingOcean’s Fourteen,there’s still a lot of hate directed toward the franchise’s 2004 sequel,Ocean’s Twelve. However, despite many fans degrading the film, and registering a Tomatometer rating of only 55%, courtesy of the critics, the much-maligned heist movie still killed it at the box office.

If die-hardOcean’sfans out there are really missing the electric on-screen chemistry shared between leads George Clooney and Brad Pitt, the Hollywood A-Listers are reuniting for the action comedyWolfslater this month, for which the duo did not make $35 million each to star in the film. Clooney reiterated that fact while appearing at the 81st Venice Film Festival. The actor said at the movie’s press conference (perDeadline):

“By the way, there’s a really good report —Nicole Sperling for The New York Times— she wrote an interesting article about it.And whatever her source was for our salary [laughs], it is millions and millions and millions of dollars less than what was reported.And I am only saying that becauseI think it’s bad for our industry if that’s what people think is the standard-bearer for salaries.I think that’s terrible.It’ll make it impossible to make films."
