We haven’t seen the last of the comedy series One Day at a Time, as the show has been picked up by Pop TV for a fourth season. The show was axed by Netflix earlier this year, leaving its future in question. While things looked grim, fans of the series took to social media to take part in a campaign to save the show, expressing their hope for another network to pick it up. It looks like those prayers have been answered, as Pop TV president Brad Schwartz confirmed the show’s pickup in an official press release.
“When we looked at the success we’ve had withSchitt’s Creek, we felt that was because of how it championed love and kindness, and how it has a lot of emotion mixed with a lot of heart and comedy. And when you look atOne Day at a Time, you see it does the same [thing]. They deal with inclusion and love and acceptance and family. They pull on your emotions and they make you laugh. There are such parallels to what helpedSchitt’s Creekbreak through on Pop. Pop is now the home to two of the most critically praised and fan-adored comedies in all of television, bringing even more premium content to basic cable.”

Originally,One Day at a Timepremiered on CBS, airing its first season in the spring of 2017. When the network chose not to renew it for a second season,Netflixswooped in to save the comedy series. After Season 2 premiered exclusively on the streaming service, the network ordered a third season which aired this past February. Unfortunately, Netflix pulled the plug on the show’s production in March, seemingly putting an end to the show’s run after three seasons.
