The 2000s was an era for silver screens like no other — unlike today when every entertainment piece is a monthly subscription away. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destinyopens in cinemas at the end of the month, and the first box office projections are in. Despite being hyped as thefinal outing of the iconic character for Harrison Ford, the opening weekend for Indy’s fifth adventure is not exactly stacking up to be the franchise’s Holy Grail, but is simply…OK. The projections for Indy’s June 30 opening have placed the movie firmly in the $60-70 million domestic gross....

With Disney churning out live-action remakes of their classic animated movies at a pretty fast pace, everyone is waiting to see which nostalgia-infused story will be chosen for the treatment next. So far, the remakes have included the likes of theThe Jungle Book,Beauty and the Beast, andThe Lion King, and withMulandue for imminent release, it looks like one of the next adaptations to follow will be the Greek superheroHercules. It is now being reported thatDisneyis in the early stages of developing a live-action remake ofHerculeswhich will then receive a theatrical release, rather than a Disney+ one like the recentLady and the Trampremake....

Director J.J. Abrams has addressed the story plans, or lack thereof, in regards to theStar Warssequel trilogy. Abrams directedThe Force Awakensin 2015, which reintroduced the franchise, rather successfully, to the masses. But there wasn’t a full story outlined for all three movies in the trilogy, for better or for worse. Now, Abrams has, somewhat indirectly, addressed whether or not it would have been better to have the whole story of the trilogy mapped out from the beginning....

Last summer, DC Comics fans saw a new version of the iconic villain The Joker withJared Leto’s performance inSuicide Squad. While the movie was a critical disappointment, a sequel is still believed to be in development at Warner Bros. A report surfaced in August, just weeks after the movie hit theaters, claimingJared Letowas unhappy with the finished version of Suicide Squad, casting doubt on his return in a sequel and/or any other DC Comics movies....

Star Trek: Voyagerstar Kate Mulgrew will return to the role of Captain Kathryn Janeway inStar Trek: Prodigy, the upcoming animated series in the works at Nickelodeon. Reportedly, the news was announced by CBS Studios on Thursday during New York Comic-Con’s Star Trek Universe virtual panel, and Mulgrew also spoke about her reprisal of the fan favorite role. “I have invested every scintilla of my being inCaptain Janeway, and I can’t wait to endow her with nuance that I never did before inStar Trek: Prodigy....

Back in December of 2017, Disney finalized offers to 21st Century Fox in an attempt to purchase Fox’s TV and Film properties. This has led to a ton of speculation as well as debate in the entertainment industry as well as amongst fans of Marvel Comics. The very thought of theX-MenandFantastic Fourproperties returning to Marvel to possibly join the Marvel Cinematic Universe is almost too much for some fans to take in....
