June is LGBT Pride Month, and corporations often use the month to highlight their gay customers and users. Media companies and streaming services are no different. As Pride Month approaches, many of them will bereleasing LGBT-themed content. While the film seems to follow some of the stereotypical gay and rom-com tropes, it has some intriguing and exciting aspects, namely the historical setting and some interesting themes in the trailer. Let’s break some of this down....

Warner Bros. has released the first clip from their upcoming animatedMortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revengemovie. One of the most popular video game franchises in history is about to come to life in an all-new, feature-length animated movie produced Warner Bros. Animation. The project arrives from Warner Bros. Last week during Comic-Con, showrunnerBryan Fullerrevealed that his newStar TrekTV series would be entitledStar Trek Discovery, while also debuting thefirst trailer. Jason Reitman’sGhostbusters 3wantsCaptain Marvelactress McKenna Grace as one the lead characters. After the 2016 reboot failed to reignite the franchise, Reitman is up to bat and promises that his take on the franchise will be bringing it back to its roots. It is still unclear if Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, or Dan Aykroyd will be returning for the long-awaited follow up toGhostbusters 2. But, Aykroyd has heavily hinted that the original three surviving cast members will make an appearance....

Lionsgate is hoping they can have their very own superhero franchise in the making here, similar toDeadpoolin some ways, R-rating and all. But first, they’ve got to make one successful movie and that movie arrives very soon. Although the cut of the movie is practically complete with the trailer rumored to debut sometime soon, John Carpenter has revealed in a new statement that the concerns over the state of movie theaters this year has led to Universal Studios putting Michael back on the shelf until Halloween time in 2021, forgoing its original planned release date for October 2020....

The cast of New Line Cinema’s highly-anticipated horror sequelIT: Chapter 2continues to be rounded out, with Xavier Dolan and Will Beinbrink coming aboard. Doland will portray Adrian Mellon, who, in Stephen King’s original book, is a gay man living in Derry, Maine, who becomes attacked by bullies. Beinbrink has come aboard for the role of Tom Rogan, the abusive husband of the adult Beverly Marsh (Jessica Chastain). We reported yesterday that production has started, which spawned from a photo James McAvoy sent out, presumably from the set, but it seems that isn’t the case yet....
