Everyone wants to be Superman. There is no doubt that within the huge list of possible superheroes that an actor or actress would like to play, the Man of Steel occupies the top positions along with Batman, Wonder Woman or Spider-Man. That is why the casting forSuperman: Legacyis getting more and more interesting.
Weeks ago,The Hollywood Reportershared a report detailing the alleged candidates for the lead role in James Gunn’s next film, which will officially kick off a new DCU. Names like David Corenswet, a fan favorite to take Henry Cavill’s place, appeared on the list along with names like Tom Brittney and Andrew Richardson.

Now,Varietyreports that a new name has joined the fray, one that until now no one has mentioned. This is the model and actor Pierson Fodé (The Man from Toronto), who has sent his tape to participate in the audition.
Clarifying that there were no comments from Warner Bros. Discovery to confirm the information, the outlet reveals that its sources shared that Fodé detailed part of his past in the tape, since he grew up on a farm just like Clark Kent.
Since the announcement of the movie, Gunn has clarified that he will be the only one to confirm the final choice for the part and that he won’t be sharing any names from the actors that have participated or that have been considered for the role.
Would Pierson Fodé Be a Good Superman?
Fodé would definitely not be a bad choice. Like Corenwest, who appears to be the frontrunner, he fits the age Gunn and Safran are looking for for their franchise’s future lead. His acting career began in 2012, with appearances in the television movieWrath of God: Confrontationand appearing in an episode ofiCarly.
His big break came not long after, in 2015, when he joined the seriesThe Bold and the Beautifulas Thomas Forrester, one of the main characters. As for the world of superheroes,Superman: Legacywould not be anything new for the actor, since he had a participation in The CW’sSupergirl. For his role in the popular sop opera series, Fodé was nominated twice for a Daytime Emmy Award in 2016 and 2017. Since then, he has participated in other interesting projects such asDynastyorAnimal Kingdom.
Superman: Legacywon’t be an origin story for the titular hero, since the story will find Clark already working as a reporter on The Daily Planet and also trying to balance his life as the world’s most powerful hero. No details have been shared about the plot so far, but Gunn has confirmed that characters like Jimmy Olsen and Krypto will be part of the film, and of course Lois Lane. Lex Luthor is also expected to appear. So there’s plenty of roles to cast.
Superman: Legacywill hit theaters on June 01, 2025 and will be followed byBatman: The Brave and the BoldandSupergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, the main film projects from the new DCU so far.
