It’s almost been a year since we last got to witness Austin Butler’s unforgettable performance of the Rock and Roll king, Elvis Presley, in the Baz Luhrmann movie,Elvis. Now that the audience is familiar with the biographical story of the legendary singer, director Sofia Coppola is all set to bring Priscilla Presley’s unseen story to life in the A24 film,Priscilla. The film is adapted from the memoir,Elvis and Me, written by Presley herself and Sandra Harmon.Priscillapremiered at the Venice International Film Festival in September 2023 and releases in select theaters on November 3.
Coppola’s filmmaking style is quite distinct and impressive; many of her films deal with themes around women’s heartbreak, with visuals having more subdued color palettes, characters' fashion sense representing their interiority, and excellent soundtracks establishing tone and atmosphere.
