As filming continues onReady Player Onein Birmingham, England, new photos and video have arrived, giving fans a closer look at this unique world being created. Production begin in July on directorSteven Spielberg’s highly-anticipated adaptation, and last month, we got our first look at thisdystopian worldthrough the first set video and photos. Today’s sneak peek goes even deeper, showcasing parts of a car chase scene while uncovering some unique Easter Eggs tied into Steven Speilberg’s own past as a filmmaker.
The photos and videos surfaced through various Twitter accounts over the past few days, butThe Birmingham Mailreports that filming took place in the Jewellery Quarter of Birmingham, with filming condensed to take place from today through September 10. While we do get a glimpse ofSteven Spielberghimself walking through the sets, there is also footage from a car chase scene captured by YouTuberDan Shepperd, which features two black SUV’s chasing down a large truck. We also have photos from different parts of the set which showcase some pop culture references.
