TheReno 911!squad is all back together as seen in our first sneak peek at the Quibi revival of the comedy series. After airing for six seasons on Comedy Central,Reno 911!came to an end in 2009, and at the time, it appeared that would be the last we’d ever see of television’s most hilarious police officers. It has since been revealed the entire cast would be reuniting for a revival series on the new streaming service Quibi, which is soon set to arrive with a launch set for April of this year.
Though we knewQuibi was resurrecting Reno 911!, we’ve been waiting with bated breath to see some footage from the new episodes of the show. By releasing a new sneak peek video of the revival on YouTube, Quibi has now finally given us our first look at the newReno 911!, and although it’s been over a decade since we last saw these characters, they really haven’t changed much at all. The new footage is just as hilarious as I remember the series from the early 2000s as well, and the Quibi revival definitely feels like a direct continuation of the original series. you’re able to watch the sneak peek video below.
As we can see, thewhole squad is presentfor the new series, including series creators Thomas Lennon as Lt. Jim Dangle, Robert Ben Garant as Travis Junior, and Kerri Kenney-Silver as Trudy Wiegel. Also returning to reprise their roles are Niecy Nash as Raineesha Williams, Cedric Yarbrough as Deputy S. Jones, Wendi McLendon-Covey as Clementine Johnson, Mary Birdsong as Cherisha Kimball, Ian Roberts (Sergeant Jack Declan), Joe Lo Truglio (Deputy Frank Rizzo), and Carlos Alazraqui as James Garcia. As some of these characters were controversially killed off in the original series, the Quibi revival will apparently retcon the Comedy Central version’s final season to bring back the beloved characters.
Because fans have been missingReno 911!for many years, the creators have beenworking on a revival for quite some time. There had been rumors that a second movie would be produced, following the previous release ofReno 911: Miami. For whatever reason, the revival attempts didn’t make much traction until Quibi got involved, giving the revival a home where fans who remember watching the show years ago can check back in with the officers of the Reno Sheriff’s Department.
