At very long last, the wait is (almost) over.Rick and Mortyseason 2 aired its finale nearly two years ago, and fans have been waiting ever since to get more episodes. The show has only gained popularity, as more and more fans have discovered it in the time since season 2 ended. Now, after all that time waiting, Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland have confirmed thatRick and Mortyseason 3 will be here on Sunday, July 30 at 11:30 p.m. EST. Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, the creative duo behindRick and Morty, made the announcement at a live event in Los Angeles last night, which was also live-streamed on the Adult Swim website. Not only did they announce the premiere date, which is just a month from now, but Adult Swim also released the first full-length trailer forRick and Mortyseason 3. It is everything you want it to be and more. This all very well may have beenworth the long wait.
The trailer starts out in the best way possible, by showing us that Pickle Rick is actually going to be the subject of an entire episode. That wasn’t just some ridiculous promo. We then cut to an action-heavy montage of what we can expect fromRick and Mortyseason 3, which includes aMad Max: Fury Roadinspired episode. What more could you want? There is quite a bit of footage in the trailer from theRick and Mortyseason 3 premiere, including Seal Team Ricks and the promise of theirdarkest season yet. Some of the footage definitely makes it seem like this season is going to live up to that. The trailer also concludes with a tagline that sums up the show about as well as anything could.

During the live event,Dan Harmonand Justin Roiland messed around quite a bit on stage and attempted to do someRick and Mortyepisodes from scratch. If anything, it gave us a window into why it is these episodes took so long to make. The duo also teased and addressed the possibility ofRick and Mortyseason 4. They couldn’t confirm or deny anything, but at one point it was said that their contracts are up and they are going to negotiate. Given the show’s popularity, it is hard to imagine Cartoon Network will let them go if they’re up for doing another season.
The duo also addressed the rumors that they weren’t getting along, which is whyRick and Morty Season 3was so heavily delayed, with recent chatter even suggesting it was canceled. They joked that off and reassured all of us that the show is here to stay.Rick and Mortyseason 3 is going to consist of 10 episodes, which kicks off in one month.
