Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalkerbehind-the-scenes video shows off some great footage from the latest photoshoot reveal. Iconic photographer Annie Leibovitz made her way out to the desert valley in southern Jordan called Wadi Rum to meet up with J.J. Abrams and the cast. Everybody is shown working hard and then smiling and having a good time in between takes. The environment wasn’t always the easiest place to shoot, but the cast made the best of it while huddled in tents, waiting for sandstorms to pass.

There’s one particular piece of footage featuringJoonas Suotamo’s Chewbaccacuddling BB-8 in between takes as massive wind gusts blow his Wookiee hair all over everywhere. Suotamo says, “It’s going to be a wonderful journey,” and notes that, " Everyone is back together again and Chewbacca thrives when he’s in a group that faces adversity." J.J. Abrams has already promisedThe Rise of Skywalkeris going to have the trilogy’s greatest threat, so Chewie is going to be thriving.

Also shown in the video isAnnie Leibovitz snapping the photoof Oscar Isaac, Daisy Ridley, and John Boyega embracing on the set. J.J. Abrams shared the actual photo when production onThe Rise of Skywalkerhad officially wrapped. From the looks of things, we’re going to see more of a larger group effort this time around. Isaac is excited to see his character interacting more with Finn and Rey, noting Finn is a member of his family. The Resistancehas a lot of building to do, which more than likely brings the gang closer together to fight the First Order.

The Rise of Skywalkerbehind-the-scenes video featuresNaomi Ackie’s new character, Jannah, as she rides a creatures called an Orbaks alongside John Boyega’s Finn. They’re riding across a new desert planet known as Pasaana in the video. There is a lot to take in when looking at the photos and the video, but it is evident that the cast and crew had a great time making the final movie in the Skywalker saga. It’s going to be interesting to see howStar Warsfans react to the movie when it is released later this year.

TheStar Warsfranchise has hit the brakes a bit in terms of big screen projects. The Rise of Skywalkeris going to be the last one for a while and expectations are high for a number of reasons. J.J. Abrams is expected to right all of the perceived wrongs from Rian Johnson’sThe Last Jedi, which he does not intend to do. However, we’ve already seen some pretty promising elements, including the iconic cackle of Emperor Palpatine and the Knights of Ren return. Whatever the case may, be the cast and crew are incredibly proud of what they were able to accomplish while making the movie.
