Deadpool & Wolverineis shaping up to be the wildest MCU film of all time, but according to starRyan Reynolds, co-starHugh Jackman’sWolverine almost got in touch with his sensitive side in a deleted musical number. Both Reynolds and Jackman are in the midst of a press tour for the film, which opens July 26, and the pair are providing only snippets of what to expect in the film. In a rare admission, however,Reynolds revealed a scene that definitely won’t be in the film: a musical number featuring Jackman singing an Elton John classic ballad.
Reynolds' admiration for Jackman’s singing is well known, as theX-Menactor has a successful stage career as well, performing in musicals likeOklahoma!,Carousel,The Music Man, and even a one-man musical showcase on Broadway. According to a tweet fromFilm Updates,Jackman almost displayed his musical skills inDeadpool & Wolverine, performing a rendition of Elton John’s “I Guess Why They Call it the Blues,” but the scene was cut before it was ever filmed.It would have been a rare family-friendly momentin an otherwise R-rated film.

During the same Q&A, Jackman also talked about the wildest rumor he had heard about the film, and it doesn’t sound too far-fetched, given the film’s tone. Ironically, it turned out to be remarkably similar to the aforementioned deleted song. As seen in the video below, Jackman told the audience:
I heard there was a full song-and-dance number for Wolverine. Naked.

Deadpool & Wolverine’s Cameos Span the Multiverse
While not including a musical number (naked or otherwise) seems like a missed opportunity, it’s clear the film won’t skimp on providing the widest variety of Marvel characters in a film sinceAvengers: Endgame. For well over a year, the internet has been awash in rumors over possible cameos inDeadpool & Wolverine.Trailers and film clips have already confirmed the return of fan favorites Lady Deathstrike (Kelly Hu), Azazel (Jason Flemyng), Pyro (Aaron Stanford), and Sabretooth (Tyler Mane).Even more cameos have been reported by reputable sites but not confirmed, including Elektra (Jennifer Garner), Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and Rob McElhenney in an unknown role.
Even with the announced cameos,Reynolds insists we haven’t seen everything yet. A recent preview screening reportedly only featured about 35 minutes of the film, in order to keep its secrets and cameos close to the vest. Reynolds recently said of the number of cameos in the film:

Deadpool & Wolverinemarks Jackman’s first appearance as the fan-favorite mutant since his cinematic death in 2017’sLogan. His appearance in the MCU gives the franchise a much-needed boost, as recent films and series have underwhelmed fans. In addition to Reynolds and Jackman, the film stars Leslie Uggams, Emma Corrin, Matthew Macfayden, Karan Soni, Morena Baccarin, and Stefan Kapičić.
