Across the Spider-VerseWill Feature All Manner of New Spidey Variants

Should these rumors be true, Tom Holland’s live-action iteration of Spider-Manwould join a whole host of variants due to make an appearance inSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.Main Spidey Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) is all set to once again explore the madness of the multiverse and will be teaming up with the likes of Oscar Isaac as Miguel O’Hara aka Spider-Man 2099, a version of the character from the future. Introduced during a post-credits scene at the end ofSpider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, O’Hara will have a much bigger role this time around.

Across the Spider-Versewill also feature some lesser-known Spider-People in the form of Ben Reilly aka the Scarlet Spider, a genetic clone of Peter Parker who possesses a similar power-set; Earth-138’s Spider-Punk, a variant who gained his powers after being bitten by a spider irradiated by illegal waste dumpingand loves to sport a mohawk; and Cyborg Spider-Woman, a bulky, powerful variant with a giant gun for an arm. And all that is without even mentioning the likes of Issa Rae as Jessica Drew aka Spider-Woman: a pregnant woman with spider-like abilities and the character Takuya Yamashiro aka “Japanese Spider-Man” from the 1978 Spider-Man series, both of which have been confirmed to play a part in proceedings.

But that’s not all! Morales will be joined by some old friends as well, including Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy aka Spider-Woman and Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker aka Spider-Man, with the gang transported across the Multiverse to face off with a villain more powerful than anything they have ever encountered.

That villain has now been confirmed to be The Spot, proving an earlier rumor to be true. Voiced byScott Pilgrim vs. the Worldstar Jason Schwartzman, The Spot is a B-list bad guy with the ability to access and manipulate inter-dimensional portals which become adhered to his skin. An ability that will prove to be crucial in this multiversal adventure.
