Ever since production began onSpider-Man: Homecomingearlier this week, we’ve been treated to a slew ofset photosand new casting additions. Today we have more of both, with new images ofTom Hollandin action, while actors from two of this year’s most popular TV shows have joined the cast.Better Call Saul’sMichael MandoandFargo’sBokeem Woodbinehave signed on, although no details about their characters have been confirmed.
Bookeem Woodbineis said to be playing anew villaininSpider-Man: Homecoming, but his character is being kept under lock and key. If he is playing a villain, he will be the third bad guy joiningMichael KeatonandLogan Marshall-Green, rumored to play Vulture and The Tinkerer, respectively. It’s possible thatBokeem Woodbineisn’t playing a third primary villain, but perhaps an evil associate of either Vulture or The Tinkerer. As forMichael Mando’s character, no details were given quite yet.
These new additions join a cast that includesMarisa TomeiasAunt MayandRobert Downey Jr.returning as Tony Stark/Iron Man.Laura HarrierandMichael Barbieriare in unknown roles. The cast is rounded out byDonald Glover,Kenneth ChoiandAbraham Attah, but nothing is known about their characters thus far either.
There has been talk thatSpider-Man: Homecomingwill kick off a new trilogy that is set completely withinPeter Parker’s high school years. The story will reportedly follow Peter as he tries to balance his school work with fighting crime all over New York City. We don’t know how large or small a role Tony Stark/Iron Man will have in this movie, but there has been speculation that other Marvel heroes could show up as well. As for the new set photos, we get new glimpes ofTom Holland, who is seen breaking into a full sprint outside his high school, while clutching a note, but we don’t know much else about this scene.
