During theD23 Expothis weekend,Captain America: Civil WarstarsChris EvansandAnthony Mackieflew in from Germany to present fans with the first footage from this highly-anticipated superhero adventure, while confirming that they only have one more week left of principal photography. A new report fromComicBook.comreveals that newSpider-ManstarTom Hollandhas arrived on the set, and we even have proof of the actor’s arrival, with new photos of the actor with Instagram user Deer.Dehaan in Leipzig, Germany. Hopefully it’s only a matter of time before new photos surface from the set, giving us our first look at the actor in costume, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Marvel also sent out a press release during D23, where the actor was added to the full cast list ofCaptain America: Civil Warfor the first time. When Marvel and Sony’sSpider-Mandeal was announced earlier this year, it was revealed that the new Peter Parker would appear in oneMarvelmovie before starring in his ownSpider-Manadventure. While that movie was long rumored to beCaptain America: Civil War, it wasn’t officially confirmed until now. The actor also spoke withEntertainment Weeklyas part of their Fall Movie Preview issue, where he made his first public statement about landing theSpider-Manrole, although he wouldn’t divulge any details.
“I’ve been really strongly advised that I’m not allowed to say anything on that note. I’m really sorry. Trust me, I’d love to tell you. But I have one person staring at me right now going, ‘No!'”
SinceCaptain America: Civil Waris in its final week, it’s possible that the production may conclude with the film’s final battle, whereSpider-Manis expected to make his appearance. When both Sony and Marvel were casting for the role, the final candidates read with bothChris Evans(Captain America) andRobert Downey Jr.(Iron Man), but we still don’t have any details about how he fits into the story. A report from earlier this month revealed thatSpideycould side with either Iron Man or Captain America, since, in the comics, he first teams up with Iron Man before moving over to Captain America’s team, but we aren’t sure which side he will pick in the movie.
Regardless of whose side he’s on, now thatTom Hollandis in Germany to film hisCaptain America: Civil Warrole, hopefully we’ll find out for sure which side he picks. Which team to do you think Spidey will side with? Check out the new Instagram photos from Germany below, and stay tuned for more details asCaptain America: Civil Warwraps up production.
