Monday seems like such a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. And we’re guessing that in the past 72+ hours, you’vewatchedthe brand-newStar Wars: The Force Awakenstrailer about a billion times. Well, now we have an alternative version from the fine folks atScience Vs. Cinema. They’ve taken the first two teasers released earlier in the year, and edited them together with thisthird and final trailerfor one epic, mega-sneak peek. The sad thing is, this is the last footage we’ll get before the movie drops in theaters this December.
We’re only two months away fromThe Force Awakensmaking its debut in theaters. And despite the fact that the prequel trilogy was awful by most accounts (we like them), the fans seem to be more in love with the franchise than ever before. And most are overly enthusiastic for this next installment. Perhaps that’s because, as the last two trailers have shown us, original trilogy cast membersHarrison FordandCarrie Fisherwill be back to reprise their iconic roles asHan Solo and Princess Leia. We’ve also caught glimpses of Chewbacca’s return. That’s notsospecial, as the Wookie, along with droids R2-D2 and C-3PO were last seen on the big screen just a little over ten years ago in the last live-action movie to be releasedStar Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith.

Science Vs. Cinemabelieves that fans want to see all threeStar Wars: The Force Awakenstrailers stitched together, and they’re probably right! This mega-sized 4 minute preview weaves together virtually very frame of footage that has been unleashed thus far. The fan-edit takes the year-old teaser that was launched last December and injects it into the Star Wars Celebration trailer released this past spring. Then, it is all rolled into the full-length trailer that dropped on Monday. It’s like a Disney Lucasfilm TurDuckEn for superfans. And the trailers aren’t just hitched to each other. This new edit gives the footage a new narrative structure, with key moments from one trailer playing against the minor moments from another.
Even with this four minute sneak peek now simmering in our hands, there is still quite a bit about the movie we don’t know. For instance, the identity ofMax von Sydow’s character remains a mystery, and the purposeful exclusion of Finn and Rey’s surnames have spawned numerous theories. And, of course, there is the biggest mystery of all: Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), who has yet to be revealed in any of the posters, photos or footage released so far. It’s safe to assume at this point that we probably won’t see Luke Skywalker at all until we’re sitting in our local theater on December 18 (or, most likely, the evening of December 17), adding to the mystery and intrigue of a movie that is so popular, it actually caused several movie ticket websites to tank, shortly after tickets went on sale Monday night.

While we can only speculate about these mysteries for now, we do have this glorious short film to keep us entertained. It manages to introduce us to the new heroes, includingJohn Boyega’s Finn,Daisy Ridley’sReyandOscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron without telling us their names. We also get a good look at main villains Kylo Ren, playedAdam Driver, General Hux, played byDomhnall Gleesonand Captain Phasma, played byGwendoline Christie. This four minute clip also pours on the nostalgia. Revisit all the footage again, here, right now! I just hope you’ve already secured your tickets for opening night. Imagine all the secrets being ruined before you get a chance to discover them for yourselves. Then this will all be for naught!
