Besides a consistent Disney+ release schedule, Lucasfilm and itsStar Warsprojects are experiencing a period of uncertainty, which is also affecting some of the actors involved. Specifically, Boba Fett actor Temuera Morrison has recently discussed whether he will return as the iconic Bounty Hunter in a futureStar Warsproject. For now, we shouldn’t expect Boba Fett to appear in any of the upcoming series Disney and Lucasfilm have planned.

Between the delay of future feature film projects Lucasfilm has in development, such as theRey spinoff losing several writers, and no official plans outside a new trilogy from Simon Kinberg, it’s clear that Disney is still trying to figure out what direction to take the classic IP in. What’s more, Morrison is also just as in the dark about the plans forStar Warsas the fans are, making Boba Fett’s return unlikely in the foreseeable future.

While speaking withThe RaeSide,Morrison gives an update on his future in theStar WarsCanon,"[doesn’t] know what is happening on theStar Warsfront.“Unfortunately, it seems that Disney and Lucasfilm’s plans for the franchise’s future don’t involve Morrison or his character, Boba Fett, just yet. The actor would also say in the interview that he was hoping for a second season of his spin-off series,TheBook of Boba Fett, and that he and the fans will have to “see what happens,” implying that there are no solid plans in the future for a second installment.

‘The Book of Boba Fett’ Star is Unsure of His ‘Star Wars’ Future

Temuera Morrison triumphantly returned toStar Warsafter a long hiatus from his appearance in the prequel trilogy, appearing first inThe MandalorianSeason 2 before spinning off into his own series,The Book of Boba Fett. The show was met with a mixed reception but featured an impressive cast, most notably Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand, also introduced inThe Mandalorian, whoMorrison would say in the same RaeSide interview that he would like to “work with [her] again.“The series featured Boba Fett establishing himself as the new ruler in what was once Jabba the Hutt’s territory and ended on a definitive note with the character now a benevolent but deadly ruler.

Disney Pulls Another ‘Star Wars’ Movie from Its Schedule, Surprising Animated Sequel Will Take Its Place

The untitled ‘Star Wars’ movies that was set to land in cinemas in December 2026 has now been replaced with ‘Ice Age 6’.

Given the character’s notable re-introduction inThe Mandalorianand Din Djarin’s appearance in the season finale ofThe Book of Boba Fett, it wouldn’t be surprising that the character would be featured in the upcomingMandalorian & Grogumovie. Still, the movie hasreportedly finished filming, and given that Morrison makes no mention of the project, it’s safe to assume the actor is either keeping his appearance in the movie a secret or truly isn’t involved in any future projects at this point in time.

With how much has changed in the plans for futureStar Warsprojects over the years, it’s still entirely possible that Morrison’s Boba Fett could return in a new project. Other iconic legacy characters who were thought gone have returned in one way or another since Disney acquired Lucasfilm, making it feel like no character is ever really gone.
