As fans patiently wait for the premiere ofStranger ThingsSeason 5, one of the show’s co-creators,Ross Duffer, has been keeping fans updated about the progress of the series finale, from posting behind-the-scenes photos of the cast on set to giving viewers a glimpse inside the writer’s room with sneak peek pictures. Recently, Ross Duffer, who created the hit sci-fi Netflix series with his brother, Matt Duffer, took to social media to share an exciting update about the first two episodes of the upcoming season, and we have a feelingStranger Thingsfans won’t be able to contain their excitement.

In a new Instagram post, Ross teased the first two chapters ofStranger ThingsSeason 5. Alongside two photos of the episode titles, he revealed that chapters one and two are “locked, mixed, scored, colored, DONE.” With the first two episodes complete and ready to go, Ross wanted to take a moment to share his personal take on Episode 1, titled “The Crawl.” Referring to the episode as his “favorite” one yet, theStranger Thingsco-creator went on to say that the first chapter of the new season is the “most eventful first episode since season one.” See the post below.

However, it was the title of Episode 2 that left fans scratching their heads. Titled “The Vanishing of…,” some fans may notice that the rest of the title is scratched out with a question mark etched in red marker over it. Though he didn’t reveal who would be “vanished” in the episode, Ross teased that the second episode of season five has “by far the craziest cold open we’ve ever done.” He continued, “One of the sequences we’re most proud of this season.” As far as the runtime for each episode, Ross was told he could not reveal it. Instead, he urged fans to wait, saying that he would share “at a later date.” So stay tuned.

Eleven and the Gang Are Preparing for Battle in Official ‘Stranger Things’ Season 5 Trailer

This latest update comes a few weeks afterNetflix released the official teaserfor the fifth and final season ofStranger Things. The two-minute teaser begins with Steve Harrington (Joe Kerry) trying to adjust a satellite dish that is attached to the roof of a car. While sitting inside the vehicle, which is parked outside a radio station, he attempts to turn the dial, and in a matter of seconds, a series of numbers flash across the portable radio. But what comes next in the short teaser shows a fraction of what’s to come in the final season ofStranger Things, from Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown)preparing to fight Vecna(Jamie Campbell Bower) to the future of Hawkins (and its citizens) hanging in the balance.

Stranger ThingsSeason 5 will be released in three parts, with Volume 1 set to debut on the streaming platform on July 19, 2025. Meanwhile, Volume 2 will premiere on June 06, 2025 (Christmas Day) and Volume 3 will premiere on August 25, 2025 (New Year’s Day). According to Netflix, the official synopsis for the upcoming season states:
