Worlds collide in filmmaker Andy Muschietti’sThe Flash. Unfortunately, the Ezra Miller-led adventure has the dubious honor of being this summer’s biggest box office flop, while other blockbusters likeFast X,Spider-Man: Across the Spider-VerseandGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3are thriving. However, while the film struggled mightily in theaters,The Flashstill marks the return of Michael Keaton as Batman. And it introduces a new version of Supergirl, aka Kara Zor-El (Sasha Calle), to DC’s live-action world. And in a brand-new deleted scene that has emerged online, the Scarlet Speedster stumbles upon Kara’s Kryptonian vessel in the Russian silo.Check out the scene viaTwitter:
The footage clearly shows Kara’s vessel, which is eerily similar to the pod that brought Kal-El, aka Superman (Henry Cavill), to Earth in Zack Snyder’sMan of Steel. The Flash (Younger Barry) also finds Supergirl’s red and blue costume in the chamber.

The deleted scene happens right before Batman (Keaton) and the two iterations of Barry Allen (Miller) find Kara emaciated in her Russian prison. Hidden deep in the bowels of the silo, so the sunlight can’t empower her, the Kryptonian is scooped up and rescued. Once she is freed and brought to the surface, Kara’s cells absorb the rays of the sun, begin the healing process and her superpowers emerge.

More Deleted Footage of Supergirl Exists
In addition to the Flash (Ezra Miller) discovering Kara’s (Sasha Calle) spaceship in the new deleted scene released online, Supergirl herself has revealed that a much more violent, R-rated version of Kara’s battle with the Russians was shot by director Andy Muschietti.
Calle said in an interview withCollider:
“The silo scene was a lot longer. I did a lot of stunts for that scene, and some I think were a little too rated R, and they ended up kind of bringing it in. There’s so many visual effects, but maybe one day I can ask Andy [Muschietti] to let me see them, because there were so many and as much as I love stunts, I would love to see the wholeness of those shots.”
Apparently, Supergirl did a lot more damage to her Russian captors atop the silo in the deleted footage when she regained her superpowers in the sunlight. Unfortunately,The Flashcouldn’t outrun a moviegoing public that didn’t seem interested in paying for a ticket to see what marks the gap between the DCEU and James Gunn’s upcoming DCU in whichSuperman: Legacywill mark the new universe’s first official flick. Whether Calle’s version of the Girl of Steel ends up in Gunn and Peter Safran’s vision of DC remains to be seen.
