CinemaConhas become one of the biggest gatherings of theater owners, exhibitors, and Hollywood Studios in recent years. The convention is also largely considered a testing ground, to help give moviegoers and theater owners alike a glimpse at how the cinematic landscape will look for tentpole releases over the coming years. And with a new era set to begin at DC Studios this year withJames Gunn’sSuperman, marking a new continuity in the hero’s journey, comes a slew of new marketing materials and promo art to set the tone.

The new promo art, which a user on X posted, depicts David Corenswet’s Superman in the classic flying pose with which fans of the character are very familiar. Superman’s costume and coloring are bright and vivid, evocative of the first teaser trailer, which showcased brief moments of the character’s wholesome nature. Warner Bros. Discovery has had a strong presence at the convention — most notably premiering the first-ever screening ofAndy Muschietti’sThe Flashat CineamCon in 2023. And it looks like CinemaCon will be the place they roll out the last son of Krypton’s hype machine, with other promotional materials depicting the newSupermanlogo and font also being posted online.

He also teases how it will be the same.

One promo piece, featuring the phrase “Look Up,” depicts Superman striking a fist in the area as he takes flight. Another image shows crystals that resemble those in the Fortress of Solitude. Most of the marketing up to this point has felt incredibly reminiscent of the Richard Donner-directed version of the hero, which may divide some fans who prefer the grittier version of the character portrayed by Henry Cavill.

‘Superman’ Is Expected to Have a Big Presence at CinemaCon

Aside from all this newly released imagery,Supermanis expected to have a big presence at CinemaCon in other ways, too. In a video released at the same time last year at the convention, Gunn promised that the cast would be there in person at this year’s convention to kick off what he called the “summer ofSuperman.” Given that the first trailer for the film was released three months ago, many have speculated that a new trailer for the film will also debut at CinemaCon.

There have also been reports oftest screenings for the film, further indicating that there will be plenty more to show at CinemaCon this week, too. Moreover,Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrowis currently in production, with shooting set to last until May of this year. Overall, it’s a big year for the House of El, meaning there is plenty riding on Gunn’s version ofSupermanto work, as there are plenty of other projects in development that continue to expand the new DCU.

More news about the upcomingSupermanfilm is expected on Tuesday, April 1, when Warner Bros. will have their presentation on upcoming projects at CinemaCon. For now, this new concept art has plenty for fans to get excited about, especially those who appreciate the lighter tone of previous iterations of the character.

Written and directed by James Gunn, Superman is the first movie in Warner Bros.' rebooted DC Universe to center around the titular comic book hero. It introduces a new version of the Man of Steel after Henry Cavill’s departure from the role, honoring the character’s roots as “the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way.”
