Prime Video is expanding itsThe Terminal Listuniverse with the highly anticipated spinoff,The Terminal List: Dark Wolf. Premiering on July 17, 2025, the show centers on the origin story of fan-favorite character Ben Edwards (Taylor Kitsch), a Navy SEAL turned CIA operative. During a recent conversation withIGN, Kitsch spoke about the opportunity to work alongsideChris Pratt(who led The Terminal List as Navy SEAL Lieutenant Commander James Reece). Pratt appears inThe Terminal List: Dark Wolfin a guest role and also serves as an executive producer alongside Kitsch.

Kitsch had nothing but praise for Pratt, emphasizing their strong professional and personal relationship:

Taylor Kitsch in The Terminal List - Dark Wolf

“Pratt doesn’t have an ego. He’s just such a cheerleader for you and he wants you to do great, and vice versa. We’re old enough and I think situated where we are in our careers that you’re genuinely happy for the other guy. My relationship with CP has been f**king great, man. We had chemistry since day 1.”

The upcoming prequel explores Edwards’s journey as a Navy SEAL and the occurrences that lead to his recruitment into the CIA. It explores Kitsch’s character’s military career and the choices that put him and Reece at odds. Along with Kitsch and Pratt,The Terminal List: Dark Wolf’s cast includes Tom Hopper, Luke Hemsworth, and Robert Wisdom.

‘The Terminal List: Dark Wolf’ Explores Ben Edwards' Story

The Terminal Listis based on the 2018 novel of the same name by Jack Carr (who is a former Navy SEAL himself). Since the character of Ben Edwards is not in the original Jack Carr novels, Kitsch and Pratt had the creative freedom to craft his backstory.

“Creatively we’ll talk it out, and I think because this is not in the Carr books, we had a wider array of choices where we can take Ben. So that was a lot of fun as well.”

Kitsch noted that this creative collaboration was central to building the dynamic between the two characters:

“And I think the beauty of [Pratt’s character] Reece is that we’re so f**king different, but we want the same things. And I think that’s why a lot of people had a lot of fun watching [the original series]. It was like Ben and Reece are just totally different beings.”

The Terminal Listpremiered on Prime Video in 2022 and was a major hit with audiences, despite a polarizing reception from critics. Whilethe show holds a 94% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, critics gave it a 40% rating, withsome describing it as “anti-woke” revenge fantasy. The show’s creators and fans, however, defended the series as an authentic portrayal of military life.

Given its success with audiences, the prequel series should extend the franchise’s success and should be a major release for Prime Video. A second season ofThe Terminal Listis also currently in production, promising even more for fans to look forward to.
