After the walls are breached, Gerry notices that terminally ill or injured persons are ignored by the zombies. The World Health Organization helps inject a deadly pathogen into his body to test his theory. Gerry’s hypothesis was proven true and a vaccine that repels zombies was developed.

In12 Monkeys, a deadly virus destroys most of the Earth’s population in 1996, forcing survivors underground. Volunteer time traveler and prisoner James Cole (Bruce Willis) from the year 2035 mistakenly ends up in the year 1990 where he is checked into a mental hospital. He meets nonconformist and environmentalist Jeffrey Goines, who preaches about the inhumane system they are controlled by. Jeffrey’s monologue about germs, the good kind, and the truth being disbelieved in favor of lies was a stroke of unfettered genius.

Se7enfollows David Mills and seasoned detective William Somerset (Morgan Freeman) on the trail of serial killer John Doe, whose murders match the seven deadly sins. Five victims later, Doe turns himself in to plead insanity and potentially avoid criminal punishment, unless Mills and Somerset drive him to his last two victims and the last two sins: wrath and envy. Somerset finds a box with the severed head of Mills’ wife. Doe reveals to Mills he envied his life, making Mills wrathful enough to kill the killer.
3Legends of the Fall (1994) - Brothers in Arms
Tristan Ludlow is the middle son of an ex-colonel who lives off the land of remote Montana with the Native American people. At the onset of World War I, an apprehensive Tristan enlists with his brother Samuel, swearing to protect him. Samuel dies during a reconnaissance mission and Tristan waits at his dying brother’s side. Tristan cuts out his brother’s heart (a Native American belief that the spirit of a loved one only departs when the heart is removed) to bury it at the family ranch.

Achilles is a legendary warrior revered by the Greek gods in the historical war epicTroy. When he is summoned by King Agamemnon of Mycenae (Brian Cox), he fakes his absence, knowing he is used as a pawn for the king. Achilles tauntingly ponders aloud what it would be like for a king to fight his own wars before fighting Thesselay’s greatest warrior, Boagrius. He rushes the behemoth, stabs him dead, and stares down the enemy army asking for another duel. Achilles departs saying he has no king, the statement of a freethinking man.
