Kevin Baconis no stranger to horror, following roles inFriday the 13th,Tremors,Stir of Echoesand the television seriesThe Following, to name a few. It’s a genre that has served him well and that could be why he’s returning to it with the new Prime Video limited seriesThe Bondsman. The first trailer for the series has been released, and it finds Bacon playing a bounty hunter who has awakened from the dead to find his job has an added supernatural element.

Created by Grainger David,The Bondsmanstars Bacon as Hub Halloran, a bounty hunter who was murdered and ends up getting a new shot at life with a demonic twist. His new job is to recapture escaped demons from Hell for the Devil after Lucifer resurrects him. Should Halloran fail in his new mission, he will be “terminated,” as Jolene Purdy’s Midge tells him in the NSFW red band trailer for thePrime Videoseries, which you can view below. In addition to Bacon and Purdy, the show also stars Jennifer Nettles, Beth Grant, Damon Herriman, and Maxwell Jenkins, and is set to premiere on April 3.

‘The Bondsman’ Was First Developed in 2023

The Bondsmanwas first announced in 2023 with Erik Oleson serving as showrunner and executive producer via his CrimeThink banner alongsideJason Blum, Chris McCumber, Jeremy Gold, and Chris Dickie, who will be performing in the latter capacity for Blumhouse Television. In addition to starring in the series, Bacon is also an executive producer alongside series creator Grainger David. All episodes of the series were filmed in Grantville, Georgia beginning in April 2024.

Bacon had a previous relationship with Amazon on the television seriesI Love Dick, which ran for only one season in 2016. His first television series regular role came in 2013’sThe Following, which ran on Fox for a total of three seasons. Created by Kevin Williamson, the crime thriller series was a hit, particularly during its first season when it averaged a total of 11.87 million viewers. Bacon’s last major television role was in Showtime’s crime dramaCity on a Hill, which ran for three seasons.
