The Brutalist, one of the most exciting film releases of the year, has just unveileda new trailer, and it’s looking better than ever now that it includes a couple of the Golden Globe nominations it received yesterday.
One day after the nominations for the 2025 Golden Globes were announced,The Brutalistcelebrated its awards nods with awe-inspiring new footage of the A24 film. It’s still early to know which category it’s most likely to win, but people can already place their bets on what will surely be a strong contender in the award show.

The trailer, which can be seen onA24’s official YouTube channel, showcases the impressive cinematography of the film, and also the fine performances by Adrien Brody, Guy Pearce, and Felicity Jones. Does ‘The Brutalist’ Have a Shot at the Academy Awards?
Brady Corbet’sThe Brutalisthas been an awards contender since its conception. It has all the traits of a film that usually competes during the award season that ends with the most important of all: the Academy Awards. We all know the Academy loves super-long dramas that have biographical takes and historical depictions. The Golden Globesaren’t exactly a huge reference, as those who win at one ceremony don’t usually always win at the other one. However, it still works as an early prediction tool.
The Brutalist Review: A Cinematic Masterpiece Easily Contends for the Year’s Best Film
A Jewish-Hungarian architect (Adrien Brody) arrives in 1947 Philadelphia and becomes beholden to a wealthy industrialist (Guy Pearce).
The Brutalisthas a shot at the Academy Awards. Adrien Brody could be the surprise of the night, just like he blew everyone’s minds when he won the Best Actor Oscar forThe Pianist. However, Corbet’s film deserves so much more. We just hope that next year, the Academy plays fair and awards films because of how good they are, and not because they’re popular. Actually, we just hope that the Academy voters get to seeallthe films being considered and that the controversy tones down a bit.
