It’s just like Peaches & Herb sang: “Reunited, and it feels so good!” At least that’s whatEthan Coenis teasing whereThe Coen Brothersare concerned. While promoting his upcoming LGBTQ+ movie,Drive-Away Dolls, Ethan stoked the fires that he and brother Joel would be collaborating again on a new project in the future. Ethan said during an interview withEmpiremagazine:

[We are] working on writing something.

Ethan’s comment on the matter was succinct, and he didn’t mention anything else about The Coen Brothers’ future collaboration. It’s been nearly 40 years since Ethan and Joel began blazing their trail in Hollywood with the dark and delicious crime drama,Blood Simple, in 1984. Three years later, The Coen Brothers gave fans a taste of their irreverent senses of humor as Nicolas Cage and Holly Hunter shined in the comedyRaising Arizona(1987).

During their 40-year tenure in Tinseltown, The Coen Brothers have made a number of memorable movies that are not only important entries in film history but pop culture, too. For instance, where would cinephiles be without Jeff Bridges’ portrayal of The Dude inThe Big Lebowski, or George Clooney’s wonderful performance inO Brother, Where Art Thou?

“Neither of us was going to make a mopey lesbian movie, not being capable of that. There are movies about the pain of being gay. That can be a good movie or a bad movie, like any other, but that is not something we were going to do. We have people for that.”
