The Conjuring Universehas provided horror fans with more thana decade’s worth of scares, and while there have been many spin-offs, the heart of the franchise has always remained Ed and Lorraine Warren. Now, after three successful movies, their chapter is coming to an end withThe Conjuring: Last Rites, and fans are taking to social media to react to the new trailer, and share what the franchise has meant to them.
Set to hit theaters on August 11, 2025,The Conjuring: Last Rightssees Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson portray the famed paranormal investigators one last time. For their final act, they tackle the haunting of the Smurl family that the real-life Warrens became a part of in 1986. For user @SWEENEYSTVEIT on X, they’re not ready for the saga to be over:

“With the Conjuring era coming to an end, I will miss the anticipation of a new movie coming to the franchise, the scares and most importantly Patrick and Vera who portrayed a beautiful love story in horror. I don’t want it to end.”
‘The Conjuring’s James Wan Says Highly Anticipated Spinoff Movie Being Scrapped Was All Your Fault
James Wan’s ‘Conjuring’ Universe is missing one of its planned spinoffs, and it’s all because fans found religion.
User @AutumnDusty noted that they weren’t impressed with the last entry in the Warrens’ story, but they’ll be seated nonetheless for the final movie to see how it all ends: “I wasn’t too satisfied with howThe Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do Itwas executed, but since I’ve watched the series from the start, might as well finish it together.” @ItsYaBoiKrista took the opportunity to reflect on what the series has meant to them, and the emotional impact it’s hard on their life:

“The Conjuring movies are good because they rouse an emotional response. I cried so hard when I watched the first one. That scene where she’s remembering that day with her family…get me the tissues.”
‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ Is the Beginning of Something New
WhileThe Conjuring: Last Riteswill be the end of the road for Farmiga and Wilson portraying the Warrens (or will it?), that’s not to sayThe Conjuring Universeas a whole is coming to an abrupt conclusion. There’s just too much money to be made there for Warner Bros., and as such, it’s the beginning of something new that will spawna Marvel-like Phase 2 of moviesthat are now in the pipeline.
Still,Last Ritesis bittersweet for @11Gagan_Janagal, who said: “I’m eagerly waiting to see the best on-screen couple, @VeraFarmiga and @patrickwilson73. The final case and the end ofThe Conjuringseries are heartbreaking…” Meanwhile, @chaerinxiel knows the perfect way to prepare forLast Riteslater this year:

“Time to binge-watch the conjuring universe again. September pls come fasttttt.”
