The Emmysare here, and you know what that means for the TV show lovers of various genres and the actors who embody the moments that we so heartfully embrace. As is the case every year, this year’s Emmy nominations are filled to the brink with heavy competitors, making it harder to predict who will win the most awards or, better yet, more nominations.
In any case, we now have an official list of all the candidates in all categories, and while some of them are surprisingly unexpected,a lot likeTed Lasso,The Last Of Us, andSuccessionare well-deserved. Most of these shows have earned multiple nods, increasing their chances of winning. However, this won’t always be the case, as many other factors are involved while judging the Emmy nominees. So, here are our predictions for the 74th annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

Succession (Outstanding Drama Series)
Succession, led by Brian Cox, has earned 27 nominations this year, including for the Best Drama Series as well as several actor/actress categories. Although it started slowly,Successionhas grown to the point that it has won Emmy Awards for all three seasons in the Best Drama category.
While the second season is the best one thus far, the prior seasons all had one glaring weakness: a greater level of plotting. Since the fourth season has concluded on an excellent note and also featured some incredible episodes, it has a better chance of winning than its competitors,The Last Of Us,The White Lotus, andBetter Caul Saul.

Ted Lasso (Outstanding Comedy Series)
To be honest,Ted Lassohas been uncontested in this category for the past two seasons, but the third season somewhat fell short of the fans’ expectations due to its loss of quality writing towards the end. However, there is a strong reason why we believe it still wins in the Outstanding Comedy Series category.
Although it wasn’t as dramatic as the previous two seasons,Ted Lasso’s season three managed to up the ante in terms of delivering impeccably hilarious situations, making it the funniest one of the lot. Furthermore, this year’s nomination in this category seems a bit off withThe Bear, which, although focusing more on the drama than its trademark comedy in the second season, is listed alongsideTed Lasso, making it a weak contender.

Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story (Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series)
Before we get into whyDahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Storywins the Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, let’s take a look at the other contenders, which includeBeef,Daisy Jones & The Six,Fleishman Is In TroubleandObi-Wan Kenobi.
While all of these TV shows have emerged successful in some form,Dahmer - Monsterdid something none have been able to do, which is to influence the audience in a certain way. With absolutely incredibleperformances from the likes of Evan Petersand the fact that it is based on a true story, it is both a strong contender and the most likely to win this Emmy.

IfBetter Call Sauldoesn’t win an Emmy this year, it will feel almost as if it has been snubbed, but considering the strict competition from the likes ofSuccessionandThe Last Of Us, Bob Odenkirk might actually win it this time.

Duringthe 28th Critics’ Choice Awardsin January 2023, he won Best Actor in a Drama Series, and it wouldn’t be surprising if he takes an Emmy home. While it may seem like a long shot due to the competition, given that Bob Odenkirk plays his character so effectively that part of his contribution made the show objectively phenomenal, it appears that his chances are better this time around.
Successionfeatures severaloutstanding actors like Brian Cox, but it goes without saying that Sarah Snook nailed her role every time she appeared and even exhibited tremendous range in her acting skills this season. Up until the third season, she was a solid cast option, but with noticeably more layered performance and her importance in the series, it’s a little surprise she was nominated for the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
The other contenders also include Sharon Horgan (Bad Sisters), Melanie Lynskey (Yellowjackets), Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale), Keri Russel (The Diplomat), and Bella Ramsay (The Last Of Us). While all nominees are worth contesting and deserving of the award, Sarah Snook’s portrayal of Shiv Roy in the series is simply too phenomenal not to win.
Nick Offerman from The Last Of Us (Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series)
The third episode ofThe Last Of Ushad to be one ofthe most heartfelt moments in television history, with Nick Offerman providing the most authentic performance to elevate the emotions in the episode. AlthoughSuccessionsecured two spots in the Guest Actor category, the rest went toThe Last Of Us, making it a tough race between these two gems.
However, given how much of an impression he had in the series with just over an hour of screen time, Nick Offerman can win it by a landslide.
