With less than one month left untilThe Martianhits theaters,20th Century Foxhas released two new clips, plus a viral video for this sci-fi thriller. The first clip gives us a look at the entire crew of the Ares 3 mission, Mark Watney (Matt Damon), Christopher Beck (Sebastian Stan), Melissa Lewis (Jessica Chastain), Beth Johanssen (Kate Mara), Alex Vogel (Aksel Hennie) and Rick Martinez (Michael Peña). This scene also shows how Mark gets stranded onMars, left for dead by his colleagues.
During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. Ridley Scottdirects from a script byDrew Goddard, based on the book of the same name by Andy Weir. The novel was originally self-published by the author in 2011, becoming one of Amazon’s top e-book sellers. The author later sold the print publication rights to Crown, which published the novel in 2014, where it debuted at #12 on the New York Times Best Sellers list.
