Whenever an election year rolls around, it’s often common to see new and returning TV shows address this political climate, in one way or another. Earlier this summer,GothamstarCory Michael Smithteased that their upcoming season would mirror the presidential elections, in their own way. Today we have word that Fox’s hit seriesThe Simpsonswill focus their efforts on a parody of Republican presidential candidateDonald Trumpin an upcoming Season 28 episode.

The news comes weeks after the show released a new video parodyingHilary Clinton’s infamous “3 AM” ad from her 2008 presidential run. The video featured Marge and Homer Simpson trying to decide who to vote for, when they come across this ad, which delightfully skewersDonald Trump.TV Linereports that the show has brought on a trio of intellectual heavy-hitters, astrophysicistNeil DeGrasse Tyson, financial expertSuze Ormanand screenwriting guruRobert McKeeto serve as a “super team of educators” at a school founded by none other thanC. Montgomery Burns(Harry Shearer). Here’s what showrunnerAl Jeanhad to say about this episode.

“We have a great episode where Burns goes to Yale and discovers, much to his horror, how politically correct it is. So he starts his own college, Burns University, which is similar to another billionaire’s university you might have heard of lately.”

Theanimated seriespreviously parodiedDonald Trumplast summer, with a two-minute video whereHomer Simpson(Dan Castellaneta) tries to touchTrump’s hair, and gets pulled into his magical hairpiece.Al Jeanrevealed they have never gotten a response fromDonald Trump’s camp, but they know he’s quite aware of his existence in Springfield. Here’s what he had to say below.

“There’s a photo of him signing a poster which was [made from] the first spot we did on him a year ago, which was not so flattering. But he’s autographing it for somebody. I think his problem is that he doesn’t like criticism, but of course, he’s opened himself up for more than any human will ever get in all of history.”

It isn’t known exactly when the Burns University episode will air this season, but it may likely debut before this fall’s Presidential election, which is on Tuesday, November 8. Hopefully we’ll get more details fromAl Jeanas we get closer to this episode’s debut. In the meantime, take a look at the twoDonald Trumpparodies the show has aired over the past year.
