We have anew look at the fourth and final season of Netflix’s unorthodox superhero series,The Umbrella Academy. Coming courtesy ofEW,a pair of new images have now been releasedfrom the series, withshowrunner Steve Blackman offering some intriguing insightinto what audiences can expect from the final outing.

The Umbrella Academyfirst began back in 2019 and is based on the Dark Horse comic by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá. Introducing an adoptive family of superheroes, the series has seen the titular team attempting to stop an apocalypse, thrown across time to the 1960s, surviving in a mysterious hotel, and now living in an alternate timeline afterthe literal pushing of a reset button.
The first image findsElliot Page’s Viktor Hargreevesat its center, with Blackman revealing that he will adjust the quickest to the team’s newfound home in an alternate reality. A reality where they no longer have powers.
“Victor is probably the one sibling who is most comfortable in his skin in season 4. He’s doing better than any of the other siblings in terms of adjusting to his new life. He’s the most accepting of their new reality.”

Now in its fourth season, The Umbrella Academy has a lot of fans and a celebrated cast.
Meanwhile, the second image finds the family inthe midst of another argumentwhile gathered by the side of the road alongside a van named “Wanda.” Blackman offered some context to the image, saying…
“This just exemplifies the chaos of having them back together as a family. Clearly they’ve been in some kind of mishap and there they are again, trying to figure things out as a family. This sums up the madness and chaos of the season in one shot.”

The final season will see the Hargreeves’ living in a world controlled by their father, Reginald, and with no superpowers. And while that may sound problematic enough, Blackman teases that things are even worse than they seem, with Reginald’s unfinished experiment having serious repercussions to this latest timeline.
“Fans may remember that at the end of season 3, Hargreeves wasn’t able to finish programming the Universe Machine, and Allison still pressed the button anyway. So we’re definitely in an altered version of our now. We’re back to the time period they’ve always wanted to get back to! At least they start in the right year, but we know that something isn’t right. My little teaser is clearly Hargreeves didn’t finish what he needed to do before Alison pressed the button, so that is going to have repercussions to their timeline."
