It might be hard to followSpider-Man: No Way Homegiven the various supervillains that show up in that movie to take onTom Holland’sSpider-Man, but the actor has already been thinking about who might be next. As of now, there are some rumblings of another planned trilogy ofSpider-Manmovies following Holland’s Peter Parker, and finding great villains to use for them will be crucial to their success. Topping the multiverse might take some especially interesting villains with the potential to have an encounter with Spidey compelling enough to warrant its own movie.
If you’re asking Holland himself, he’s got a couple of names in mind. In a recent chat with Fandom, the actor belted out Madame Web as a really good possibility, feeling confident that she could be developed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a unique and satisfying way. As Holland also explains, he hopes to see Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, also come into the MCU as another potential foe for Spidey. Most fans would agree that this is long overdue.

“I think there are some interesting villains. I think Madame Web could be something that is really interesting and we could do it in our own way. I’d really like to come up against Wilson Fisk.”
Madame Web is typically depicted as a woman connected to a life support system resembling a spiderweb. A clairvoyant mutant, she first began appearing in Marvel Comics in 1980 and was featured inSpider-Man: The Animated Seriesvoiced by Joan Lee. In 2019, it was announced that Sony was developing aMadame Webmovie with Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless hired to write the script. The status of that project is unclear, though there have been rumors of Sandra Bullock starring. Bullock recentlydenied these rumors, insisting she’s “not Marvel material.”
The Kingpin character was previously played by Michael Clarke Duncan in the notoriousDaredevildud with Ben Affleck, but the character was more recently portrayed by Vincent D’Onofrio in the NetflixDaredevilseries. After that show was canceled with a three-season run, there have been calling for D’Onofrio to appear elsewhere in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as that character. Even beforeHawkeyehad started streaming on Disney+, there had been rumors that D’Onofrio’s Kingpin would be making a surprise appearance at some point during the season. Could the villain end up facing Spider-Man in a newSpider-Manmovie down the line?
In any case, we’re probably getting more movies with Tom Holland back as Spider-Man soon enough. It just remains to be seen which villains he’ll be fighting when that time comes. Recently, Holland also said that director Jon Watts was planning on bringing in Kraven the Hunter as the villain if it weren’t possible to use the multiverse storyline inSpider-Man: No Way Home. It’s important to note that there’s now aKraven the Huntermovie happening with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, but given howVenom: Let There Be Carnagehas now officially connected Sony’s Marvel characters to the MCU, we could definitely see Kraven tussling with Spidey one day as well.
