Back in April, new concept art images debuted fromX-Men: Apocalypse, which gave us a look at the newCerebro, along with the Blackbird jet and the Egyptian tomb of the main villain, Apocalypse, played byOscar Isaac. Today,Entertainment Weeklygives us a better look at this artwork in their newComic-Conedition, along with some new details from directorBryan Singer. As you know,X-Men: Apocalypserounds out the trilogy that started withX-Men: First Classand continued withX-Men: Days of Future Past, but the director teases that this new movie will essentially conclude all sixX-Menmovies.
“This is kind of a conclusion of sixX-Menfilms, yet a potential rebirth of younger, newer characters. This is the true birth of the X-Men. This is how it happens.”

It sounds likeX-Men: Apocalypsecould bring the franchise full-circle, potentially ending where the original 2000 superhero movieX-Menstarted. Then again, that may not be possible without the help of either some time travel elements, or perhaps a flash-forward sequence at the end, sinceX-Men: Apocalypseis set in the year 1983. The director has previously stated that bothX-Men: Apocalypseand 2017’sWolverine 3will mark the “end” of this storied franchise, but 20th Century Fox still hasDeadpoolandGambitcoming out next year, which are also a part of theX-MenCinematic Universe.
Bryan Singerteased earlier this week that he hopes to bring someX-Men: Apocalypsefootage toComic-Connext week, during 20th Century Fox’sHall Hpresentation on Saturday. Since production is still going on in Montreal, it isn’t known what the filmmaker is planning to show, but the fans in San Diego will surely be in for a treat one week from tomorrow. Take a look at the concept art below, and let us know what you think.
