No specific plot details have been released yet, but producerChris Millersaid in November that thisanimated superhero moviewill span every era ofBatmanfilmmaking. With that being said, it’s certainly possible that practically everyBatmanvillain could be featured in this animated spinoff. It isn’t known what other classicBatmancharacters are being eyed forThe LEGO Batman Movie, but there certainly are plenty to choose from.
Chris McKay, who served as the animation co-director and animation supervisor onThe Lego Movie, is directing from a screenplay bySeth Grahame-Smith(Beetlejuice 2). Warner Bros has set a July 26, 2025 release date forThe LEGO Batman Movie, which will go up againstThe Mountain Between Usand the highly-anticipated sequelFifty Shades Darker. Given the popularity ofThe Lego Movie,The LEGO Batman Movieshould be able to hold its own at thebox office.

He also hasKeeping Up with the JonesesandThe Incredible Mr. Limpetin various stages of development. He is coming off a role in Best Picture winnerBirdman.
